Cascina Camurun is a typical Piemontese farmhouse, built from natural stone. The building has been restored, using genuine old material and preserving its traditional character and style. The property consists of three parts, namely; the renovatee old part comprising of four holiday apartments, a quite new house and an extension with two apartments, a garage and a cellar. In addition, there is a building for agricultural equipment. Cascina Camurun is a well-established "Agriturismo" with a home-page and internet gateway, to which various holiday organizations are linked. With its apartments, it offers demanding quests a comfortable and quiet holiday facility. The southern apart of Piedmont offers holidaymakers, seeking an active break in a perfect setting, opportunities for hiking, riding, fishing and cycling. Equally, for those who prefer to enjoy the warm hospitality of Italians living in more rural areas, it is an ideal location. Guests have the use of a large garden and a small swimming pool. In addition to the holiday apartments, there is a spacious house with its own terrace and vegetable garden. There are 8,000 sq. meters of vineyard and a further 12,000 sq. meters of woods and fields. A wide range of animals, such as cats, dogs, goats, chickens, ducks, rabbits etc. can be kept on the property. It has its own well. Cascina Camurun is suitable for use as a family home, an old peoples residence, a holiday center or a course facility.

Location |
The renovated farmhouse is idyllically situated in the midst of vines, at 410 meters above sea level and overlooking the village of Vesime in the Bormida valley, which is part of the Bassa Langhe region. Vesime has its own bank, post office, bakery, butchers, food stores, chemist, doctor and dentist. There are three restaurants in and around the village. The Castello area with its fortresses and castles, offers those seeking peace and tranquility unspoiled countryside, picturesque towns and decorative villages, not to mention art and culture. The major tourist centers of Alba, Barolo, Barbaresco and Asti are all within a radius of 40 km.
The almost magical panorama from the property over the gently rolling hillsides, with their vineyards and castles is very special. The neighboring village of Cessole, some 3.5 km. away, has businesses and shops selling primarily local produce. The beautiful spa city of Acqui Terme is only 27 km. away. Apart from the widest possible range of shopping opportunities, the city has a wonderful pedestrian precinct, a large hospital, museums, dance halls and discothèques. Savona, the nearest city on the sea, is 60 km. away and is easily reached by car or bus.

The climate is strongly influenced by the proximity of the area to the Mediterranean and hence typically has mild winters and pleasantly warm summers. The air is pure and both land and water are notable for their cleanliness. |

Description of holiday apartments |
The holiday apartments were carefully renovated in 1999 and furnished with attractive old wooden furniture. The new apartments (Nos. 4 and 5) were built in 2003. The old substance was retained and the traditional style preserved. Consequently the rooms are particularly cozy. All apartments have a wood-fired stove. The house and apartments 4 and 5 have central heating. The fittings to link apartments 1,2 and 3 to the central heating have been installed. All apartments have a modern built-in kitchen unit and a spacious and attractive bathroom with a shower and toilet.

The house was partially renovated in 1999 and offers a family excellent accommodation with central heating.
First floor: Large kitchen with eating facilities, living room and a large terrace with great views.
Second floor: 1 large double bedroom, 3 further rooms, wonderfully renovated bathroom with large jacuzzi bath, toilet and Turkish bath shower.
Ground floor: Cellar part with heating room, laundry room, workroom, shower and toilet. There is also a wine cellar with two rooms and a grotto. |
